Dalton, Illinois, Democrat, mayor Tiffany Henyard is expected to lose a landslide in the village mayoral primary on Tuesday.
According to Fox 32, he predicted he would win on Tuesday on a landslide, but challenger Jason House defeated Henard by far with his compelling fashion.
House, the village trustee and former Heniyard ally, campaigned for transparency and reform, pledging a “clean home” and ensuring accountability is returned to the Dalton government.

“Mr. Heniyard not only takes away the public what they deserve, but he’s sacrificing the money of the village,” he said on Election Day. “On the first day, all records will be handed over.”
Heniyard, who took office in 2021, has made headlines between her as mayor about her financial mismanagement and other scandals. A federal subpoena issued last May sought Dalton’s financial records to consider the mayor’s expensive out-of-state trip.
Last year, former Democrat Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was hired to investigate the handling of Henniard’s Dalton funds.

A Lightfoot investigation has shown that the village’s general fund has dropped from a $5.6 million surplus in 2022 to a $3.6 million deficit in 2024, raising concerns about suspicious credit card purchases and lack of financial accountability. It’s revealed.
Enyard was heavily criticized by residents ahead of her elections over various scandals. She has also been charged with civil rights violations, faces numerous lawsuits relating to her alleged corruption, and was involved in a brawl at the board meeting last month.
