Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and his wife presented a pink toy Porsche to the daughter of the shoe hei daughter.
Otani posted a video of his Roberts and his toy car on his Instagram account.
“We were running a little bit and working jokes,” Roberts said Wednesday. “But this was a gift for the baby.”
Last May, Roberts joked that when the slugger broke the Dodgers’ record with most home runs by Japanese players, Otani should give him a Porsche. Otani presented the purple toy model Porsche for Roberts’ office. In breaking the record, Otani surpassed the mark set by Roberts, born in Japan on the day of play.

Otani grew a little bit in March, leaving behind another toy Porsche in Roberts’ parking space at Camelback Ranch, Arizona.
Otani was presented to Ashley Kelly, the wife of Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly. Joe Kelly gave her husband Porsche when Otani signed with the Dodgers in December 2023.
Otani’s first child was born on April 19th. He and his wife Tanaka have not revealed the baby’s name or other information in line with Otani’s privacy trends.
