Dean Kane isn’t too pleased with how James Gunn portrays the Steel guy in his new film.

Cain played Superman from 1993 to 1997 in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

In a recent interview with TMZ, the actor measured a new film this weekend hitting theatre.

“What makes me crack is that people don’t like Superman, he was traditionally called the “Big Blue Boy Scout.” Superman’s inherent weakness is his goodness. So, sorry, they are in my opinion great value.

He then switched gears and spoke to director James Gunn’s recent comments on the famous superhero in an interview with The Times UK, stating that Gunn is “Superman is an American story.”

“They are immigrants who came from other places and lived in the country, but for me, it’s a story that basic human kindness is a value and something we’ve lost,” he explained. “It’s about human kindness, obviously, it’s not just kind, it’s offensive just because it’s about kindness, but it ruins them.”

The outlet noted that the comic book hero was developed in 1933 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, the sons of Jewish immigrants.

Gunn’s comments captured the rage of Jesse Watters of Fox News. Jesse Watters commented that the new Superman Cape reads MS-13 and refers to cross-border gangs designated as global terrorists.

Cain, who praised Watters, said he believes Watters’ comments are to point out “How Hollywood is awakening this character, how much does Disney change Snow White? Why does it change these characters that exist for The Times?”

The 2025 version of “Snow White” sparked a controversy over the ethnicity of lead actress Rachel Zegler. She is of Colombian descent.

Cain, a supporter of President Donald Trump, was also facing other changes to Superman lore.

“For Superman, it was the truth, justice, and the American way. Well, they dropped it. “I think changing your beloved character is a great idea. If you want to create a new character, go ahead. But for me, Superman has always put the truth, justice, and the American way.”

He then fell into his own opinion about immigration to the US, then went back to the way he thinks he feels that Cancer has hurt the film with his comments.

“I think bringing Superman was James Gunn’s mistake, he says it’s about immigration. I think it hurts the number of films. I’m looking forward to what the film is.

He doesn’t believe it “tank like Snow White,” but he doesn’t think it would “help the numbers.” He also felt that “people really need to be educated about this immigration situation, as we are the most immigrant-friendly country on this planet.”

Variety posted a story about Cain’s comments on Instagram.

“Superman was born on another planet and moved to Earth by spacecraft. He happened to land on Earth. That’s true,” commented Oscar Nunez, “the office.”

“Why is it split between calling literally illegal aliens and immigrants in the context of the story and comics? That’s accurate. Superman doesn’t shy about it. There’s no need to create a new character when that’s the way the characters exist.

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown just wrote “*sigh*.”

“Superman” attacks theatres on Friday.
