Delta Air Lines offers passengers who were on a flight tied to Toronto, each with $30,000 flipped over.
It was not immediately clear how passengers could charge money, but if all 76 passengers provide a delta, the airline would have to totally exceed $2.3 million.
Representatives from the Delta Care team are telling customers that the offer “is not marked with a string and does not affect their rights,” a Delta spokesperson said.
Delta Flight 4819, arriving from Minneapolis at Toronto Pearson International Airport, was burned at landing and turned upside down on the runway around 2:15pm on Monday.
Despite the chaotic scenes filmed in the video, the plane carrying 76 passengers and four crew members fell over onto the roof while landing at Toronto airport on Monday , the injured did not die.
The CRJ-900 carried 76 passengers and four crew members hanging from their seat belts when the smoking plane stopped.
There were no deaths, but 21 people were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Deborah Flint, president and CEO of Toronto Pearson, said the injured are not life-threatening.
As of Wednesday morning, all but one of the injured passengers had been released from hospital, Delta said.
Weather conditions at Toronto Pearson International Airport were revealed Monday, but gusts of wind were reported up to 40 mph at the time of the crash, Flint said. Nearly two feet of snow was pouring down on the airport for the days leading up to the crash, but no snow was reported on the radar at the time of the accident.
Flint warned the speculation and refused to answer questions about the runway situation.
The cause of the crash remains unknown. The Canada Road Safety Board is currently investigating with support from the US National Road Safety Board, officials said.
