More than 200 House and Senate Democrats have signed a letter denounced what was called an “unprecedented incident” that was forced to be removed from last week’s Homeland Security press conference.

The letter, signed by 188 Congressional Representatives and 35 senators, accusing the Trump administration of “a potential violation of separation of power,” and said the case “supposes surprising questions about the administration’s stance on federal law enforcement implementation, coordination of protective services and oversight of Congress.”

Padilla was handcuffed and temporarily detained by officers with the aim of opposing the unrest in Los Angeles and the attacks on Trump administration immigrants that sparked smaller protests around the country this month.

Video of the incident showed Padilla walking to Noem while speaking on the podium to attempt to scream at the secretary, but law enforcement intervened and forced Padilla to stop her advance.

Padilla was eventually taken out of the room, brought to the ground and handcuffed, the video showed. Fox News reporters attending the press conference said it appears that Padilla has been in custody for a period of time.

Padilla insists, “I was not trying to confuse myself, either, or I don’t think I was.” “Just as reporters members ask questions, as members of Congress, members of the Senate, and members of the Senate, as they ask questions to do our job to take responsibility for the administration.”

The letter, sent by the Hispanic Caucus in Congress and joined by hundreds of other members, was sent Monday to House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senators John Tune and Senators John Tune.

This letter was written by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa. , signed by House Minority Leaders Hakeem Jeffries, Dn.Y., and Senate Minority Leaders Chuck Schumer, Dn.Y.

Senator Alex Padilla was seen near the Noem podium at a press conference.

“We are writing to express deep concern about the shocking, deeply troubling abuse of U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla,” the lawmaker said in the letter.

The letter states that “Senator Padilla clearly identified himself and acted within his rights as a member of Congress,” and that “this unprecedented incident can be a constitutional issue, not merely a humiliation against security protocols.

Democrats support the dignity and authority of Congress, calling for “quick and decisive action” from Congressional leaders.

“We set a dangerous precedent for legislative department independence when members of the U.S. Senate may be physically bound to seek responses from executive officers,” the letter argues.

Johnson told reporters that his view on Padilla’s actions before the incident was “very inappropriate” and that “you don’t request a seated minister’s secretary and that anyone can draw their own conclusions.”

Thune spoke to Padilla and the Senator about the incident in the Jennifer Hemingway Army.

White House spokesman Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital that “no one will fool you.”

“Padilla rushed to the podium of Chief Noem in the middle of a press conference, resisted law enforcement and did not immediately identify herself,” she said. “Democrats are eager to talk about anything other than their supporters who are violently rioting in Los Angeles, so they are trying to create a martian from the senators who acted with kindergarteners throwing tantrums.”
