Democrat prosecutors in Fairfax County, Virginia, have dropped felony charges against twice-reported illegal immigrants charged with strangulation and trickling plea deals that disappoint him on misdemeanors.

According to local outlet ABC7 News, Democrat federal lawyer Steve Descano has advertised on his website that “wherever possible, Steve will make claims and pleas decisions that limit or avoid immigration outcomes.”

Guatemala National Wilmer Osmany Ramos Guillon faced 360 days in prison on felony charges including family accusations, strangulation and assault.

Ramos Guillon was accused of assaulting his ex-wife during the debate. According to the victim’s testimony and court documents, Ramos Guillon allegedly took the keys of his ex-wife and prevented her from leaving. I placed my hands on her throat, preventing her from breathing. He then swung a knife around her legs.

According to a statement from Immigration Customs Force (ICE), Ramos Guillon is illegally in the country after being deported twice previously. According to an ICE statement, Ramos Guillon has been sentenced to a previous federal conviction for a gun crime and has said an ice detainee has been filed against him.

The Descano move has been severely criticized by other local leaders who say they are contributing to the two-tier judicial system in favour of illegal immigration.

“I slammed Descano saying that if someone was illegally here, committed a violent crime or was a drug dealer and could pick it up with illegal weapons fees, they shouldn’t be treated more generously than real U.S. citizens,” Republican Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyarez said.

“He’s willing to treat people who broke our laws and come here illegally and give them a more generous penalty or plea deal than anyone who is actually a legal citizen of the United States,” Miyares said. “That means someone would think that for me it’s somehow protecting our community.”

Sean Kennedy, a member of the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, also commented on the case, saying, “The Fairfax prosecutors have precisely protected and bet this dangerous and violent offender because he exists illegally.

“How about breaking one set of laws exempt more intrusions? That shouldn’t be, but that’s true in Fairfax’s two-tier judicial system.”
