Her beloved wife, mother and grandmother have been missing for two days, and her family is seeking the public’s help to bring her home.
Police say 75-year-old Calmede was talking to her husband at home in the 12,000 block of Marvel Avenue at around 4pm on March 20th, before she disappeared.
“Bird was gone when my husband returned from the other room,” Downey Police Department released. “She doesn’t know where she is.”
Police said the birds suffer from dementia and need to take medication every day, but she left her medicine. She also has a history of leaving the place without her husband.
Bird’s family and other loved ones have been very concerned about her happiness and have since shared posts on social media, asking their neighbors to keep an eye on nearby cities and neighborhoods in southeastern Los Angeles County.
“My mother ran away from my father,” Bird’s daughter said in a Facebook post. “She left the tracking device and bracelet at home.”
The post said the bird was last seen in the Lakewood Boulevard section between Stewart and Gray Road and Imperial Highway.
Another poster circulating on social media said people close to her believe she may have been on the bus while the bird was last seen on foot.
The bird is said to be a very missing elderly woman, weighing about 140 pounds, five feet tall and five inches tall, with dark hair and brown eyes.
Police said they last saw him wearing a blue hooded sweater over a purple sweatshirt and blue jeans.
“We are currently investigating some tips from the public, but we are still seeking national help in finding the bird’s location,” the department said.
