Exclusive: Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif, responded to comments from a democratic challenger calling her “ESL puppet” in a post criticizing the Trump administration’s immigration policy.
“My story is not unique. It is the story of so many Korean Americans and immigrants across the country who are proud of Americans and make our community better every day. I am proud of my accent and will continue to use my voice to protect America’s dreams for future generations,” Kim told Fox News Digital.
“The moving of Korean immigrant children to districts two hours away is new low for parrot racebaits targeting Korean Americans, anti-immigrant slandering new.
Democrat Esther Kim Barrett’s Wednesday night post included screenshots from the National Republican Campaign Committee X Post saying Kim Barrett “radical,” “anti-ice,” and “pushing fringe conspiracy theory.”
It also included screenshots of various news articles about Asian immigration facing deportation and other issues.

“Remember when your own racist Maga party couldn’t convey your much older a – apart from me [Rep. Kim]Kim Barrett wrote. You don’t work hard, you and your husband are the biggest glyfters representing the swamp.
“Don’t you even notice that our shared Korean-American community has the highest number of undocumented immigrants among Asians?” she added. “You don’t even speak enough English to hold a single cohesive discussion. You are a puppet show. It’s so embarrassing. You’re a real life Judas to our community. You’ll make me sick [Rep. Kim]. ”

The comment is because Operation Ice continues to be a major topic of discussion in Golden State. Most Republicans argue that efforts are necessary for public safety, while others are worried that they are hurting the immigrant community.

“Accused Democrat Estelle Kim Barrett is a hated prejudice who embodies the worst of today’s political discourse. Californians reject this vile extremist who doesn’t have the business to represent them in Congress,” NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez said Thursday.
In response to NRCC’s comments, Varet told Fox News Digital that “it looks like a par on the course that National Republicans can’t distinguish Asians.”

The California State Capitol could face redrawing for the 2026 cycle, but the fate of the rezoning still has to fight nationwide. Still, Kim was able to take part in yet another closely monitored race after President Donald Trump’s narrow victory over the district in 2024.

According to Politico, Kim Barrett is one of several candidates in a wide range of Democratic areas looking to challenge incumbent Republicans in the general election. The Cooking Political Report ranks the race as “Lean Republicans.”
