D-Minn, former Democratic vice presidential candidate, Gov. Tim Waltz. said China may be the voice of “moral authority” following Israel’s strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities and military leaders.
During the “What’s Next: Conversations On the Path Forward” event hosted by the Center for American Progress (CAP), Walz answered a question from CEO Neera Tanden about the nature of the strike “escalation.” “Iran must retaliate in his heart,” Waltz said, “The Middle East is flaring up in a way that is currently expanding.”
“Who is the voice of the world who can negotiate some type of agreement on this now? Who has moral authority? Who has the ability to do it?
The US once “attempted to become arbitrators of arbitrators” in negotiations during Iran’s nuclear deal, but said Americans must face the reality that “moral authority” and “moral authority” leading negotiations in the Middle East “may be Chinese.”
Waltz fell into the “sick” use of Naziera to describe Trump’s immigration policy: “anti-American”

Waltz did not elaborate on why China is becoming its world leader.

The Democratic ties with China came on the central stage during his brief time as a running companion to Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
During the 2024 campaign cycle, Fox News Digital reported that Walz was a longtime voice supporter of his hometown Medical Institute, and a voice supporter of his hometown Medical Institute with a long track record with the company labelled by the Pentagon as a “Chinese military company” and Chinese officials with controversial ties with CCP.

And in a letter unearthed by Fox News Digital, Walz boasts that Minnesota is hosting several of China’s top leaders. Minnesota International Chinese Schools exhibited a 2021 letter from Walz on their YouTube channel celebrating the school’s 10th anniversary of the Chinese New Year.
Cap, who hosted a conversation with Walz, has a suspicious relationship with China.
Fox News Digital reported in 2024 that John Podesta, the founder of CAP, a former Obama and Clinton administration official, who was taken away by the Biden administration to serve as senior adviser to the president in Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation, has a close relationship with Tung Chee-Hwa, a top CCP employee.

Tanden did not follow up on Waltz’s claim that China could be the world leader in peace talks.
