A bill cracking down on sanctuary cities passed the House this week. With the support of several Democrats.

On Thursday, the House passed a bill to withdraw Small Business Management (SBA) services from jurisdictions that evacuate illegal immigrants.

The law passed the House of Representatives with 211-199 votes, with five Democrats joining the GOP. Henry Culler of Texas, Laura Gillen of New York, Don Davis of North Carolina, Jared Golden of Maine in Washington and Marie Grusenkamp Perez.

That’s despite urging lawmakers to vote against the bill despite House Democrat leaders.

Regional, district and local levels SBA offices are required to relocate if the administration is publicly available as a sanctuary jurisdiction.

“Hospital Republicans are responsible for these cities refusing to comply with immigration laws and for refusing to protect their citizens,” Minnesota’s Whip Tom Emmer, the third House Republican, told Fox News Digital’s bill digital.

“Under President Trump, putting Americans at risk and prioritizing illegal foreigners will not be rewarded with federal dollars and resources.”

The second bill passed Friday morning would add an explicit language that would illegally prohibit Americans from obtaining SBA loans.

Eight Democrats voted for the law. Perez, Culler, Gillen and Davis all voted for the bill along with Tom Suzzi of New York, Josh Harder of California, Mercy Capter of Ohio and Kristen McDonald Rivet of Michigan.

House Democrat leaders did not appear to have caucus guidance on how to vote for the bill.

This is a sign of the continued efficacy of illegal immigration as a political issue after proving the key to Republican victory in the House, Senate and White House last year.

The former bill is R-Minn. It was introduced by Rep. Brad Finsstadt, the latter by Rep. Beth Van Duyn, R-Texas.
