Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who led the defending of the allegedly suspected party of Gilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, is celebrating his return to the United States by saying, “This is not about men, it’s about constitutional rights.”
“For months, the Trump administration has downplayed the Supreme Court and our constitution,” Van Hollen argued in a statement sent by email to Fox News Digital.
“Today, they seem to have finally become lenient with our demands to comply with the court order and due process rights given to everyone in the United States.”
Van Hollen was the first of several Democrats to fly to visit Abrego Garcia after being deported to his country’s high security prison in El Salvador in March.

29-year-old Abrego Garcia has been returned to the US and faces charges in a sealed federal complaint in Tennessee on suspicion of illegal interests and conspiracy to illegally transport illegal aliens for illegal transport.
Many Democrats claim Abrego Garcia is an innocent man who was mistakenly deported, but the administration pointed to considerable evidence that he is a member of the MS-13 gang.
Abrego Garcia is said to have moved illegal immigrants from Texas to internal states, who prosecutors say it’s an organized operation that dates back many years.

Since Abrego Garcia’s deportation to his home country, Van Hollen has defended his return.
After Fox News Digital asked Van Hollen in May if he was aware of allegations of domestic violence against Abrego Garcia before visiting him in El Salvador, the senator said, “What I said here is that we need to litigate these issues in court.”
In a statement Friday, Van Hollen doubled the sentiment, saying, “As I have said repeatedly, this is not about a man. It’s about his constitutional rights and all rights.
“The administration will have to make that claim in court, as it should have been there forever.”

Despite the seriousness of his suspicious crime, bringing Abrego Garcia back to the United States has been a major cause for Democrats.
Earlier on Friday, another Maryland Democrat, Glenn Ivy, traveled to El Salvador to defend Abrego Garcia, but used his X account to promote the event and continued “critical conversations about the fight to return those unfairly incarcerated in El Salvador.”
Ivy argued that the Abrego Garcia incident is “part of a much bigger crisis and should not be looked away.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Ivey also knew that the Trump administration “will ignored the Supreme Court and misunderstood the American people for several months, and that it could not return Kilmer Abrego Garcia to the United States under any circumstances and would always have the power to do so.
“I went to El Salvador and defended Kilmer’s return. He was entitled to a legitimate process under our constitution. Kilmer now gets a day in court.
