Ron Desantis has intensified the attack on Randy Fine Words and denounced the “unique issue” of the representative electric for its thin special election victory in the district known as the Republican home.
The Trump-approved candidate won a special election on Tuesday night, taking over the seat of former Congressman Mike Waltz 14 points.
DeSantis had already criticised Fine’s ability to draw out victory, but called it a “squish” Republican voters didn’t even want to vote Tuesday night.
“If the president was sitting on the sidelines, this race would have been so close that he really had to bail out,” DeSantis said. “I think these were voters who didn’t like Randyfine, but were basically like, ‘What do you know? We’ll take one for the team.’ ”

The governor also challenged media coverage that characterizes close race, reflecting President Donald Trump’s agenda.
“I don’t think that’s true at all for this district,” DeSantis said at a press conference. “I think you have a candidate for Randyfine.
DeSantis added that the fines, including a former co-worker in the state legislature, would “fight back” people. At a press conference Wednesday, the governor said how state lawmakers demanded that he nominate a fine from the president of Florida Atlantic University, so he won’t need to serve in Congress any more.

“I did it and the whole board [at Florida Atlantic] Instead of making him president, he would have resigned,” DeSantis said.
Florida Republican state Sen. Randy Fein will give a speech after winning the District 6 race and signing former GOP senator Michael Waltz.
Desantis and Fine had a controversial relationship for a while. This can be traced back to at least 2023 when he was the first Florida Republican to switch support from Desantis to Trump in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination game. In subsequent manipulations made clear to him his decision to support Trump for DeSantis in the 2024 presidential primary, as he denounced the governor of Florida for his failure to contain anti-Semitism after the Hamas attacks after the attack on October 7, 2023.
According to Desantis, Fine supported Second Amendment restrictions and earlier this year attempted to overthrow immigration proposals aimed at boosting immigration law enforcement, and enacted a de facto sanctuary urban policy.

In response to Desantis’ criticism, Fine responded to X at a press conference on Wednesday along with a video of the governor’s comments.
“The dying star burns hottest before it disappears into oblivion. I’m working with President Donald Trump to focus on ensuring that Democrats don’t retreat this country,” writes Fein. “Now, let’s go.”

Allies are unhappy with public criticism of DeSantis’ representative elector, adding another important vote to the majority of the GOP’s narrow home, which has now been reduced as a result of several members working in the Trump administration.
“Ron and Casey DeSantis are dishonest and have a more consistent agenda than the president’s agenda,” a National Republican operative on Trump’s orbit told Fox News Digital. “With the majority of Congress taking place in their own backyard, Ron and Casey didn’t raise their fingers to help Trump’s supported candidates. What’s worse, Ron openly attacked his candidates, leading to a special election that could undermine President Trump and suppress Republican votes, and cried out about it on Fox News.
