The Trump administration has begun inter-ministerial efforts to end what it describes as “exploitation of housing programs” by illegal foreigners.
In a statement released Monday, the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Agency (HUD) announced that it has established an “American Housing Program for American Citizens.” The agreement was also signed by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The MOU is directed at ending “wasteful misappropriation of taxpayer dollars to benefit illegal aliens on behalf of American citizens,” the press release said.
“As part of this new agreement, HUD will provide full-time staff members to assist in operations at Incident Command Centers (ICCs), promote data sharing and establish interagency partnerships to ensure taxpayer-funded housing programs are not used to embrace or benefit illegal foreigners,” the release reads.

The effort comes a month after President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) to prevent taxpayer resources from being used to encourage or support illegal immigration. Signed on February 19, the EO ordered the government department to identify federally funded programs that “provide financial benefits to illegal aliens,” and required that “remedial action be taken.”
In a recent statement on the MOU, HUD Executive Director Scott Turner mentioned the ongoing housing crisis in the United States, characterising the issue as “closing.”

President Donald Trump will be attending the City Hall, officiating by then-Governor of South Dakota, Christa Noem, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and Fairgrounds in Oaks, Pennsylvania, on October 14, 2024.
“This agreement leverages resources such as technology and personnel to ensure that Americans are their only priority when it comes to public housing,” Turner said. “We will continue to work closely with DHS to maximize resources and put American citizens first.”
DHS Director Christa Noem has denounced the Biden administration in her statement, accusing the former president of prioritizing illegal aliens “more than our own citizens, including funding by illegal alien taxpayers at the expense of Americans.”

“The whole government will work together to identify abuse and public interest exploitation and ensure that people in this country have not received federal benefits or other financial incentives to remain illegal,” Noem said. “If you’re an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The gravy train is over.”
