Trump’s Department of Homeland Security is chuckling several House Democrats to “run to court” by demanding access to Baltimore’s ice processing facility.
Dozens of Democrats are suing the Trump administration for “illegal obstruction of Congressional supervision” after Democrats in the Maryland Legislature were denied entry into the ICE facility on Monday.
Maryland Democratic Sens. Chris Van Hollen and Angela, along with their representatives, appeared in Baltimore, a Fallon federal building on Monday, but were denied entry to the building’s ice-controlled facilities.
After being denied access to the facility, the group held a press conference outside the building, and MFUME said, “We had to stand outside, knock on the door and finally sit in front of the door.”
Democrats filed a lawsuit against the administration in US District Court for the District of Columbia on Wednesday.

“A real-time, ground oversights are less urgent than ever, with more than 56,000 people and the increasing detention of more than 56,000 people, as well as abuse, overcrowding, unsanitary conditions and U.S. citizens, at a time when ice is detaining more individuals than ever before,” U.S. oversight, one of the law firms representing Congressional members, said in a statement Wednesday.
D-Colo. “It’s about blocking Congressional members from surveillance visits to ice facilities that otherwise would violate federal law or otherwise detain immigrants, and the Trump administration knows.”
In response, DHS Communications assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News, “These members of Congress may have just scheduled tours. Instead, they’re in court to drive clicks and raise emails.”
McLaughlin cited concerns over the assault on ice officers that surged 830%.

“There’s a fact. As ice law enforcement has seen a surge in attacks, confusion and obstruction of enforcement, including members of Congress themselves, requests for tour processing centres and field offices must be approved by the Secretary of Homeland Security,” she said.
“As for visiting detention facilities,” she continued. “A request should be made in sufficient time to prevent the President’s interference with the Article II authorities to oversee the President’s Article 2 powers. A week is sufficient to ensure that the President’s intrusion into the Constitutional Authorities. The request to shorten the time must be approved by the Director, in order to protect the President’s Article II authorities.”
She added, “These requests must be part of legitimate Congress’ oversight activities.”
After the incident, Ivey’s office shared a letter with Fox News Digital, dated July 21. In it, the delegation informed Noem and acting ice director Todd Lyons of their intention to visit the Baltimore facility. The letter did not appear to have requested it. James Kommer, R-KY, chair of the House Committee on Surveillance and Government Reform. and ranking member Robert Garcia (D-Calif) was also included in the letter.
