Diddy’s lawyer ocks sex trafficking cases in closing discussions – NBC Los Angeles

Sean “Diddy” Combs was portrayed as a victim of a passionate prosecution in the lawyer’s closing discussion on Friday, in which he tried to turn recreational use of drugs and swinger lifestyles into an assault-like conspiracy that could put the music mogul behind his life.

Attorney Mark Agnifilo laughed at the government’s lawsuit against combs and downplayed the agent who seized hundreds of bottles of astroglide lubricant and baby oil on his property as he began a presentation that was expected to last several hours.

“How to go, blowjob,” Agnifilo said of the agent.

He said prosecutors combine swinger’s lifestyle and “severely exaggerated” evidence with the three, along with recreational drug use, calling it an assault conspiracy.

“He didn’t do what he was charged with. He didn’t assault the conspiracy and sex trafficking,” the lawyer said.

Agnifilo also called Combs’ prosecutors a “fake trial” and ridiculed the notion that he was engaged in assault.

“Are you teasing me? Are you teasing me?” Agnifilo asked. “Are the witness standing up against the witness and saying yes, I was part of an assault company. Did I engage in the assault?” No, Agnifilo argued, telling the ju judge that these charges were figures of the prosecutor’s imagination.

Combs’ family, including six of his children and his mother, were among the audience for the closing session.

All his life, Combs has cared for people, including his ex-girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym Jane, where he paid rent, Agnifilo said.

“I don’t know what Jane is doing today,” Agnifilo said. “But she does it at the house he pays for.”

Referring to the lawsuit filed by Combs accusers, he said: “This is not about crime, it’s about money. It’s about money.”

He said Combs’ nearly 11-year girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, sued him in a lawsuit settled in November 2023 for $20 million in one day, sparking a federal investigation the following day.

“If you had to choose a winner in this whole thing, it’s hard not to choose Cathy,” Agnifilo said.

Both Cassie and Jane testified during trial that Combs was repeatedly forced into drug-fueled daily sex marathons along with male sex workers, where Combs was seen, supervised, masturbated, and sometimes filmed encounters.

He allegedly invaded Combs’ bedroom and his most intimate personal relationship.

“Where is the crime scene? It’s your sex life,” Agnifilo said.

He also laughed at the prosecutor’s claims that Combs and his support are engaged in hundreds of assaults and their suggestion that many of his so-called freak-offs and “hotel nights” are crimes.

If so, he said, “We need a bigger role in crime scene tapes.” This is a reference to the famous line of the film “Jaws.”

Agnifilo reiterated that the defense “owns” the fact that Combs is violent, but he argued that the actions do not justify the grave charges he faces.

He said he had a “loving, beautiful” relationship, albeit “complicated.”

“If the plot to assault was the opposite, it would be their relationship… They were in deep love with each other,” Agnifilo said.

If convicted, the comb could face a minimum of 15 years of duty and maximum life in prison.

He did not testify at the seventh week trial.

After Agnifilo completed the closure, before the judge read the law, U.S. Attorney Aide Maurene Comey was expected to deliver the total of his rebuttals before reading the law to a ju judge who is not expected to begin deliberation until Monday.

Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Assault Resource Centre and the National Sexual Assault Phone Hotline at 800-656-4673.
