First Fox: Former Democrat Anthony Weiner received an astonishing donation from his ex-wife Hama Abedin and her sister Heba Abedin to a campaign for the New York City City Council despite saying that Weiner’s sex scandal killed her in 2021.
Huma Abedin donated $175 to Weiner’s campaign on March 13th, while his sister Heba Abedin donated $150 on December 29th, 2024.
Weiner launched the latest campaign for the NYC City Council, which served from 1992 to 1998 before the controversy derailed in December 2024. Weiner was elected to represent New York’s 9th Congressional District in 1998, resigned in 2011, and resigned after posting photos in social media in underwear.
The incident was followed by a long-standing sexual scandal, and in May 2017, Weiner was accused of transferring indecent material to minors after having sex with a 15-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison.

“I can’t live in that space anymore. I tried it. It almost killed me,” Abedin told Nora O’Donnell.
Abedin said Winner pleaded guilty and filed for divorce the same day he was sentenced to prison. The former couple, who co-parented their son, was found in 2023 when they attended an Inner Circle Charity Show at the Siegfeld Theatre in Midtown Manhattan.

By July 2024, Abedin announced on social media that he had been engaged to Alex Soros, the son of Open Society Foundation chair and billionaire mega donor George Soros. They are scheduled to get married this summer.
After resigning from Congress in 2011, Weiner continued sexting under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.” Sidney Leathers, the main receiver at the time, 22, claimed that the former councillor had called himself a “discussive and constantly horny middle-aged man.”

Weiner attempted his first political comeback with the mayor’s run in 2013, but his reputation was eroded by a new revelation of explicit photographs Weiner sent under the pseudonym. Weiner was caught up in another sexting scandal in 2016, leading to his indictment. In one image Weiner sent him, he was lying in bed with his young son.
That year, more allegations emerged that Weiner had sex tested a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina, and his laptop was seized. Investigators found an email related to the Clinton classification document scandal that controlled the 2016 election.
Weiner later dressed up in rehabilitation due to sexual addiction. In 2017, his federal accusations ruined another bid for the mayor. He was released in 2019 and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Abedin and Weiner did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment by the deadline for this article.
