As families try to recover from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, the San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center is focused on supporting displaced families with children with special needs.
Operating as a distribution center, employees aim to provide essential items such as clothing, health products, diapers and blankets to families affected by the Eaton Fire.
“As an agency that provides support and services to people with developmental disabilities, we are extremely grateful to families affected by the wildfires for their support and support,” said Yvonne Gratianne, San Gabriel Pomona’s communications and communications officer. Martin Rodriguez, whose 12-year-old son Maximilian is a special needs child, said he was relieved to find the distribution center when he was evacuated by the wildfires.
“We were scared the whole time,” Martin said. “That would never have happened to me. I found [the distribution center] And they came here to help us. This is a great support not only for us but for everyone during this time of crisis. ”
“Our house and everything in it was destroyed,” another resident evacuated by the wildfire told KTLA. “Regional centers have contributed to the provision of several development activities. [for my son.]”
