The Democratic National Committee announced Monday that it has hired the social media staffer who ran the @KamalaHQ account during Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign.

The social team will now focus on building a new @FactPostNews brand for Democrats across X, Threads and Bluesky, with plans to expand to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The account aims to counter so-called “misinformation” from President-elect Trump’s administration in real time.

“The Republican disinformation machine is powerful, but we believe a more powerful weapon will tell the American people the truth about how Trump and his administration are deceiving the American people,” DNC Chief Mobilization Officer Shelby Cole told Axios.

The DNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from FOX News Digital on Monday morning.

According to Axios, the team’s first marching orders are to disrupt the confirmation process for President Trump’s cabinet nominees, emphasizing personal wealth. An internal memo calls the candidate an “unqualified billionaire pick.”

The new effort comes as Democrats are completely reevaluating their election strategy following President Trump’s landslide victory in November.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York said last week that Democrats see the 2024 election as a loss, saying he has no plans for the party after losing both the White House and the Senate and failing to flip the House. He acknowledged that he should reflect on whether he was wrong.

Schumer appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and was asked about Democratic strategist James Carville’s claim that the Democratic Party’s loss was because of “the economy, stupid people.”

“I said it in the caucus and I’m going to say it here… it’s certainly a loss, but it’s also a challenge,” Schumer said of the election.

Schumer said Democrats face “tough headwinds” to win four of the seven Democratic Senate seats contested, but added, “We did some things wrong. We need to look in the mirror. We need to look at what we did wrong.”

“What we’re trying to do is take the time to talk to working families and show them how much we care about them,” Schumer added. “And not just talk about the law, but talk about the conditions that make so many working families worry about their future.”
