The doctor who gave Matthew Perry Ketamine in the months leading up to his death from an overdose of a “friend” star, agreed to plead guilty, authorities said Monday.
Dr. Salvador Plascencia agreed to plead guilty to the distribution of four counts of ketamine, federal prosecutors said in a statement. They said the plea has been sentenced to a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, and Placencia is expected to enter the petition in the coming weeks.
Five people have been charged with various crimes that contribute to Matthew Perry’s Ketamine death. Matthew’s personal assistant has already pleaded guilty to a relatively minor federal charge after administering the final fatal dose, but can the state seek more serious penalty?
The woman accused of being a placenia and ketamine dealer was a major target for the prosecutors after three other defendants, including another doctor, agreed to plead guilty in exchange for cooperation.
Plascencia was scheduled to begin trial in August.
Perry passed away on October 28th, 2023 at the age of 54.
