Pitcher Blake Snell can finally satisfy his curiosity for the Dodgers when he takes the mound in his first season with the World Champions
The 32-year-old left-hander has traveled over the past few seasons after seeing the Dodgers win and a star roster. His career began with the Tampa Bay Rays and played from 2016 to 2020. He joined the Padres in the 2021 season before heading to San Francisco to close his contract in the offseason.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner has agreed to a five-year, $182 million contract with the world champion. The contract is the third largest left-handed pitcher in major league baseball history, based on total value.
“When you look outside, you’re interested in what makes them great,” Snell said this week at Camelback Ranch during spring training. “I’m here now, so I got it. I’m excited to be here. I can’t wait.”
Snell will be in a strong lineup with many key players returning from last year’s team, but he said he feels hunger for more success.
“We all want to achieve that goal,” Snell said. “They’ve done it. I’m not. I think it’s a good mix because some of the people we’ve added aren’t. We’re all hungry. I’m me. I love the odds of them.”
