Baseball returned to a horrifying moment with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ spring training opener when pitcher Bobby Miller was hit in the head on a line drive on Thursday.
According to ESPN, the ball came out of the Chicago Cubs’ base-hand Michael Busch bat at 105.5 mph and hit a mirror square on his head.
He lay on the ground for a brief period before being treated by the training staff. He walked under his own power from the field in Glendale, Arizona.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. It really makes sense,” Miller posted on X, a former Twitter account. “I’m fine in the scary moments!”
The Dodgers placed Miller under the concussion protocol. It’s unclear how much time he’ll miss.
“We’re keeping an eye on him tonight,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, according to ESPN. “I don’t know what that means in the future. It’s certainly a bit of a set-off. We have to make him feel that he’s OK in the future.”
