Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto home attempted robbery, athlete’s latest break-in, celebrities

In the latest break-in at the home of celebrities and professional athletes, the Dodgers Yoshinobu Yamamoto home was targeted in an attempted robbery on Wednesday, when the star pitcher was separated by a team facing the Cincinnati Reds.

A Los Angeles police officer was called to the 26-year-old Hollywood Hills home early Wednesday morning after someone reportedly jumped over the gate to the facility.

Officer Drake Madison said police were called to attempt a break-in at around 5am on Nightingale Drive on Wednesday.

The man broke the rear glass door in the house, according to security at the scene.

Security responded, and the man ran away before LAPD officials arrived on the scene, Drake said.

The suspect apparently hadn’t taken anything from the house, Drake said. No arrests have been made.

Official records show that the house belongs to the Japanese pitching star.

The incident occurred while Yamamoto and the other Dodgers were away in Ohio and were playing a three-game series with the Reds.

Yamamoto began his first game of the series on Monday, winning the team 5-2 at Great American Ballpark.

Although LAPD did not identify the owner of the home, police have seen a recent rise in robberies at homes of celebrities and professional athletes in Southern California.

According to ABC News, in December, the FBI contacted professional sports leagues and warned that an organized group was targeting professional athletes’ homes.

The warning details how a group, often made up of South American citizens, have conducted extensive research before targeting their homes, including searching for athletes’ play schedules and checking social media posts while on the trip.

Celebrities have also been targeted recently. In June, the thief broke into Brad Pitt’s Roth Ferris home, with the A-list actor attending the premiere of London’s latest film, F1.

In February, the Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban homes were looted near Beverly Hills. The couple wasn’t home at the time either.

That same month, LAFC striker Olivier Giroud’s West Los Angeles home was also targeted.
