The Congressional DOGE Caucus’ plan to reduce government waste is shifting focus after the group’s second-ever closed-door meeting on Wednesday.
Caucus leaders have divided lawmakers into eight working groups focused on different areas to reduce waste. These will focus on retirement benefits, social and family safety nets, emergency supplemental funding, energy permits, homeland security, defense and veterans, workforce, and government operations, according to documents viewed by Fox News Digital. Rep. Jay Obanolte (R-Calif.) called for a constitutional amendment that would require Congress to balance the federal budget.
