Major fashion houses are shaking things.
Nearly 30 years after being the brand’s creative director, Donatella Versace has resigned and takes on a new role. She also revealed who would intervene.
“Advocating for the next generation of designers has always been important to me.
We are excited that Dario Vitale has joined us and are excited to see Versace through new eyes. She wrote in an Instagram post.

In 1997, Donatella was at the helm of an Italian luxury elite fashion company after the brothers and brand founder Gianni Versace were murdered outside a Miami Beach Mansion. Before that, she was Vice President.
The announcement on Thursday comes after the fashion monarch appeared at Versace’s Milan Fashion Week Show late last month. She spurred speculation that she might have left as the show paid tribute to Gianni by referring to his final collection from the fall and winter of 1997.
“It was the greatest honor of my life to carry on the legacy of my brother Gianni. He was a true genius, but I hope he has his spirit and tenacity,” she explained. “In my new role as Chief Brand Ambassador, I remain Versace’s most passionate supporter. Versace is in my DNA and always in my heart.”

In Donatera’s new role, she “will be dedicated to supporting Versace’s philanthropy and philanthropy and will remain a global advocate of the brand,” Brand said.
It was well known that the designer served as a creative partner and muse for the brothers after its launch in 1978. She helped style, create brand imagery and design accessories for the line.
