People who regularly receive supplemental security income from the Social Security Administration have recently seen some irregularly-timed payments. In March, they don’t see any payments at all.
Supplementary Security Income (SSI) is usually distributed monthly on the first day of each month.
A quick look at the calendar shows that March 1st will fall on Saturday. This means that as SSI beneficiaries know, they will not receive payments that day. They will not receive it either on Monday, March 3rd.
Instead, SSI payments for March will be diversified on Friday, February 28th, following the Social Security Administration process.

If the first day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, payments will be sent on the last week of the previous month. Therefore, if the first day of the month falls on a Sunday, your payment will arrive on the previous Friday.
Over the past few months, SSI beneficiaries have confirmed that payments have not been ordered due to holidays and weekends.
In late November, they received their December payments a few days earlier. The payments for the end of December and January arrived early for the New Year’s holiday. The payment was made in late January, but technically it was February. After payments in March were diversified in late February, no payments were made in March, and the schedule would return to normal on April 1st.
There is another blip in May where both May and June payments are spread out (June 1 falls on Sunday).
Regardless of when SSI payments arrive, beneficiaries will receive all intended checks throughout 2025. You will receive two SSI payments in a month, and another SSI payment can lead to a small budget adjustment.
In 2025, maximum monthly SSI payments are $967 for individuals and $1,450 for couples, but the amount depends on the person’s income, living situation, and whether they receive additional support from the state.
If you receive your SSI and Social Security payments, the latter will arrive as normal on March 3rd. All other Social Security Beneficiaries will not be affected between Saturday and March, according to the administration’s payment calendar.
