The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that more than 40 people suspected of having ties to Venezuelan gangster Tren de Aragua has been announced to law enforcement agencies in Hayes County, Texas.

“recently, [FBI San Antonio] Early on Tuesday morning, he developed intelligence regarding the possibility of a gathering of suspected members or peers of Venezuela gang Tren de Aragua (TDA). [Texas Department of Public Safety’s] Texas DP was posted on X.

“For more than a year, law enforcement agencies, including the DPS, FBI, federal, state and local partners, have been investigating suspected TDA members, and Tuesday’s business is the result of this collaborative effort to make the Texas community safer,” the agency continued.

The charges from Texas and the US government have not yet been announced as they are still “currently under investigation.” They noted that minors were also detained and that they had a drug attack as a result of a search warrant.

The arrest was met with praise from Texas officials.

“Well done warrior! There’s a federal anti-gang task force working. A few weeks ago I was leading a roundtable discussion about this accurately!” Rep. R-Texas Tony Gonzalez was posted on X.

“I’m in your backyard. [Texas DPS] We are proud to be able to work with federal, state and local law enforcement partners to keep Texans safe and fight TDA,” tweeted Sheridan Noren, executive director of the Texas DPS reporter.

The gang has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the Trump administration, and since then, great efforts have been underway to detain suspicious members. Many suspicious members were taken to an El Salvador prison, including 17 people who were detained in Guantanamo Bay earlier this week.
