Jenia Belt, a 33-year-old DUI driver accused of murdering senior Braun Levi at Loyola High School, reportedly drove on a license suspended due to a previous drunken arrest.
The 33-year-old woman was arrested on May 4th on suspicion of DUI and murder after reportedly struck and reportedly murdered a teenager around 12:45am near the intersection of Sepulvedoublebird and Ronda Drive in Manhattan Beach.
When the first responders arrived, Levi was lying on the street next to the Silver Infinity SUV in the belt.
He was rushing to the hospital by ambulance, where Manhattan Beach Police Department officials said they had succumbed to his injuries and declared dead.
According to the Times, Belt’s license was suspended by the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles in January 2024 due to a November 2023 DUI-related claim. In a plea agreement with the prosecutor, the DUI-related charges were dropped, and she was ordered to pay compensation and sentenced to one year of probation.

DMV records show that her license remains suspended, the Times reported.
Levi, whose family just lost his home in the Pallisard fire, is the third-year captain of the Loyola High School tennis team, winning his fourth consecutive league championship in April. He was scheduled to attend the University of Virginia after graduating.

Students, faculty, friends and loved ones packed Loyola High School’s Caruso Hall for a Sunday night prayer vigil, reminiscing of the outstanding teen.
“He was a friend of everyone who knew him,” according to the Times, assistant principal Paul Jordan told the mourners who gathered. “Brown loved his family, he loved Loyola, he loved his Pallisard community, he loved everything about you.”
As of Monday, Manhattan Beach Police had not yet presented the case to the LA County District Attorney’s Office.
The belt remains in custody without bail.
