The obvious road rage incident led to severe delays on the 215 highway in San Bernardino when one of the officials left the scene with the keys of other drivers, officials said.
The incident was reported before 7am when the van and car driver got out of the vehicle and at least one lane remained blocked on the northbound side of the highway near Devore Road.
Both drivers then began fighting on the highway. Because the van was cut off by another driver and he “checks” him, the California Highway Patrol said.
The van driver called CHP and told them he had been kicked and his keys had been stolen by the other drivers, and he left.

The caller had suffered a facial injury during the argument, CHP said.
The van could not travel from the highway, causing traffic through the area to be delayed while the tow truck responded to the location.
The caller told investigators he had been vomiting before kicking him when he stumbled while trying to confront another driver.
Descriptions of other drivers and his vehicle are not available.
Authorities are also looking for a truck that escaped after hitting the van while sitting on the highway.
Video of the scene showed that the van was connected to the tow truck around 7:30am.
