The only occupant of the vehicle was killed after a collision with Pacoima’s Los Angeles Fire Department fire engine.
According to LAFD, the crash occurred in the 13,000 block of West Terravela around 10:45am on Saturday.
The driver, known as a man in his 20s, clashed with the firefighters and was taken to the hospital where he was injured.
According to LAFD, the fire truck was responding to an emergency, with lights and sirens on during the crash.
Two of the LAFD members were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
A business owner near Pacoima says he witnessed the first responder extracting a driver from the vehicle.
“A client I was talking across the street went to check out the car. While the firefighters were preparing, they opened the passenger side door. Then, after which, after a few seconds, I took the man out of the car from my point of view.
The driver’s identity was not immediately available. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
