Several people rushed into the Angels National Forest Canyon Road above Sylmer late Tuesday night, injuring the driver and his passengers.
The crash was reported just before midnight after the car ran down the hillside near Kagel Truck Trail and Little Tojunga Canyon Road.
The driver said he lost traction while driving along the curve and crossed the side.
“For some reason I’m alive,” said Christian Hernandez. “I had to climb the hill… and I’m here, thank God.”
His passenger, identified as a pregnant woman in her 30s by freelance media company KNN News, was trapped inside the car and needed help.
Hernandez said it took him about 30 minutes to climb the hill.
“And then it took 30 or 40 minutes for the officers or ambulances to appear, because there is no traffic light here,” Hernandez said.

In the video, rescuers rappelled onto the vehicle, where a woman was loaded into a gurney and wound up on a hillside. The unidentified woman was then taken to a local hospital in unknown condition by a helicopter.
She was conscious and breathing during the rescue, Knn reported. Hernandez suffered only minor injuries and was greeted at the scene by his family.
