A chase crash involving a suspected DUI driver near Los Angeles International Airport killed a passenger in the vehicle, leaving another passenger in a vehicle injured early Friday morning.
Crash happened before 1:30am. The suspect DUI was trying to evade the officer, but was slammed by another vehicle near South Sepulveda and West Century Boulevard.
An unidentified passenger in the suspect’s vehicle was declared dead at the scene, Los Angeles Police Department official Nelson confirmed.
The innocent passengers of the victim’s vehicle were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

Nelson said the chase driver tried to run from the scene but was caught after chasing a short leg and took him to the hospital where he was slightly injured.
Information regarding the suspect’s identity was not immediately released.
Century Boulevard was blocked between Vicksburg Avenue and the Skyway, which affects airport traffic. It was unclear when the roads would resume.
