Flames from the Eaton Fire spread to Altadena’s popular Lake Avenue, where several businesses were destroyed.
Around 12 p.m. Wednesday, the Giant Steps social services organization, Theosophical Books & Library, and Bank of America, located near the corner of Marketa Street, burned in a fire that started Tuesday night and covered more than 10,600 acres northeast of the city. The Eaton Fire, which started near the foothills community of Altadena, prompted evacuation orders in the San Gabriel Valley. It was one of four large fires in Los Angeles County on Wednesday.
