The Los Angeles man was charged with murder and robbery on Thursday. He was linked this week to the fatal shooting of a longtime “American Idol” executive and her husband.
Raymond Boudarian, 22, appeared in court Thursday after being arrested in connection with the shooting. Although it led to his arrest, details were not available immediately.
Hilary Williams, a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, said Boudarian is facing two charges of murder and first-degree robbery.
Williams said if convicted of all charges, Boudarian could face life sentences without parole or the possibility of death penalty.
Robin Kay and Thomas Delca, who have been involved with the show since 2009, were found to have died Monday afternoon in another room at their San Fernando Valley residence.
Kay is a veteran in the Hollywood industry and also worked in the music departments of several other productions, including “The Singing Bee,” “Hollywood Game Night,” “Lip Sync Battle,” and Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants.
Law enforcement sources said they believe the shooting occurred last Thursday. The shooter entered the residence through an unlocked door and was fired during the conflict with the couple when they arrived home, sources said.
It was not immediately clear why the body was not found until Monday.
Just a few weeks ago, Kay contacted The Bodyguard Group in Beverly Hills and expressed concern about her safety, said owner Kris Herzog.
“She felt threatened by someone for someone around the house and around the neighborhood,” Herzog said.
Police are investigating what led to the shooting and what happened the day afterwards. Neighbors said people were seen flying around the fence on their property on Thursday.
“We didn’t hear anything,” said neighbor Amee Faggen. “My tenant saw someone jumping on the fence, and it came back on Thursday. She called 911 and hadn’t heard anything since then so I don’t know if it’s related.”
Dispatch records show that LAPD officials were sent home in a Prowler report Thursday afternoon. Officers arrived around 5pm but left the scene without finding evidence of robbery or wandering.
