Eric Dane, actor of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria” revealed that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as ALS.
Dane was opened up about the diagnosis during an interview with people, saying, “As I navigate this next chapter, I am grateful that my beloved family is by my side.”
The Cleveland Clinic website also describes “it is a condition that affects how nerve cells communicate with your muscles.” It leads to worsening muscle weakness over time and there is currently no treatment.
According to the Mayo Clinic website, the causes of ALS are still being studied, but it is believed that around 10% of cases are passed down through genetics.

“Researchers continue to study possible causes of ALS. Most theories concentrate on the complex interactions between genes and environmental factors,” reads the site.
Dane continued to demand privacy at this point on behalf of her family.
The 52-year-old California native is known for portraying Dr. Mark Sloan in “Glaze Anatomy,” but has also appeared in “Charmed,” “The Last Ship,” and “Euphoria” on each IMDB. He has returned as a Calja Cobbs character for the next third season of “Euphoria.”
“I’m fortunate that I can continue working and look forward to returning to the set of ‘Euphoria’ next week,” Dane told people during an interview.
