If conditions deteriorate dramatically throughout the storm, a voluntary evacuation warning could turn into forced evacuation.
Canyon residents are highly encouraged to voluntarily evacuate “people with disabilities, access and/or functional needs, and canyon residents with large animals.”
The Orange County Public Library and the American Red Cross will open a dorm-style shelter for evacuated residents at 10am on Wednesday, at 10am.
The total expected rainfall includes 1-2 inches of coastal and valleys and 2-4 inches of mountains.
Most of the rain will fall before Thursday morning, but the roads may remain flooded. Trabuco Canyon Road in Trabuco Creek is currently open for public use, but the roads may be closed as a public safety measure.
Residents should check the Orange County Sheriff’s webpage for ongoing updates regarding flood warnings and closures.
Homeowners are advised to protect their property with punching bags.
The Sand and Sand Bag Station is located on the Orange County Fire Department website. Punch bags may also be available to residents of urban public works sectors across Orange County. Residents should call individual cities to check availability
