The characters from Universal’s hit film “Wicked” will make their West Coast debut at the park’s first fanfest event in April.
Fully adorned with familiar costumes from the film, Elfaba and Glinda greet guests with an existing lively, evil-themed photo shoot at the theme park, which is now near the main entrance.
The Feature Presentation Store also features exclusive products inspired by Wiced, including apparel, home goods, accessories, and toys.
Universal Studios Hollywood says goodbye to high octane attractions
The evil character’s debut at the theme park was marked by Universal’s theme park chief Mark Woodbury teasing the “secret plan” of a Wicked-themed attraction.
Apart from “Wicked,” Universal’s fanfest event will feature theme experiences based on Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons and Dragon, One Piece, and Jiu-Jitsu Kaizen. Also, new experiences are coming to the world of wizards in Harry Potter and Super Nintendo.

Slice House Comes to Universal Studios Hollywood City Walk
During the event, a new light projection show will be on display at Hogwarts Castle, designed to bring guests on a school year’s whimsical journey at Hogwarts. Guests can also meet new magical creatures in the land, such as Baby Dragons and Grand Occamies.
Super Nintendo World: Yoshi becomes a Meet and Greet character during the event. As part of Yoshi’s Land debut, visitors can interact with the characters when collecting Yoshi’s eggs during a new scavenger hunt. The drone show illuminates the sky throughout the evening.
Star Trek: Red Alert: Inspired by the Star Trek universe, guests will be transported to 2403 when riding the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D during a mission to prevent interstellar threats. Visitors can explore the ship’s engineering rooms, transporter pads and more, including actual bridge set pieces from Star Trek: Picard.
Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley: Based on the 1985 “Back to the Future” film, guests board a studio tour and return to 1955’s Hill Valley as they head to Courthouse Square. This experience pays homage to the original scene. Visitors can dance the night during enchanting recreation under the sea dance, watch the lightning strike at the clocktower and meet the characters from the film.
Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep: This will allow role-play games fans to explore the world of D&D. Guests join the spy network Harpers to stop the plot of legendary viewer Xanathar and save the city of Waterdeep.
One Piece: Grand Pirates Gathering: Visitors will be able to meet Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates during an immersive and interactive experience.
