Online influencer Andrew Tate beat and suffocated his ex-girlfriend at the Beverly Hills hotel, according to a civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Model Brianna Stern, who appeared in Maxim Australia Magazine and Playboy, accused Tate of sexual assault and battery, gender violence, negligence and other actions allegedly occurring during the 10-month relationship.
Tate’s attorney, Joseph McBride, called the allegation false and accused him of ordering that he filed a lawsuit in financial interest.
“This is a blatant cash grab. A desperate attempt by a sad individual to misuse Andrew’s reputation for success and personal profit,” McBride said in an email response.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified statutory and punitive damages.
Tate, 38, is a former professional kickboxer who is self-described misogyny who has gained over 10 million followers with X and is currently being charged with human trafficking in Romania with his brother Tristantate. The two were recently allowed to return to the United States after Romanian officials lifted their travel ban.
Tate met Stern in Romania last summer. The brothers were banned from leaving Romania, but they invited models to meet with them to promote their cryptocurrency coins. According to her lawsuit, one of those models was Stern.
She joined the group that landed in Bucharest, Romania’s capital, in July 2024.
However, she says she was chosen from other models and was personally picked up by Tate in his car. The two drove from their hotel to Airbnb Villa in Transylvania for nearly three hours, where a cryptocurrency photo shoot took place.
While getting in the car, Tate offered a woman he would date, and according to the lawsuit he won Stern, saying that he had to work if he was with him.
In their relationship, Tate was kind and loving, but he was calm and bored, she said in the lawsuit. He called her a faint name and stated that she was his “property.”
According to Stern, he told her, “I’m punishing you for your actions” and “You’re not being hit hard enough, so you have an attitude.”
According to screenshots of the text message exchange included in the lawsuit, Tate will follow up on his humiliation with loving text messages.
However, according to Stern, Tate’s actions eventually became violent.
On March 10th, the two spent the night together at the Beverly Hills Hotel. According to the complaints, he began to beat her while he was having sex.
“Initially, sex was consensual, but things quickly changed,” Stern said in the lawsuit. “Tate began to orally degrade plaintiff verbally, as he did on a daily basis, but this time it was much worse, more aggressive and more violent. Tate began choking plaintiffs.”
She began crying and asked him to stop, but he suffocated her until she almost lost consciousness, the lawsuit alleges.
He used one hand to suffocate her and the other, repeatedly knocking her down on the sides of her face and above her head, Stern said.
“While doing so, Tate told her repeatedly. If she crossed him, he would try to kill her,” the complaint said. “The plaintiff did his best to protect himself until she sobbed and Tate came to a climactic end, stopping her from throbbing and suffocating her.”
He eventually fell asleep, according to the complaints.
She wanted to leave soon, but was so scared. The next morning, she pretended nothing happened and then left, according to the complaint.
According to the lawsuit, she asked her friend for help and looked at the doctor. Stern said she was diagnosed with postconcussion syndrome and doctors told her to report the choking and assault to police.
However, Stern said she was scared and didn’t want to say anything.
She included screenshots of a text message exchange where Tate allegedly wrote, “If you betray me I’ll regret it.”
Stern wrote back, “crazy.”
“No, I’m serious,” he is said to have replied.
She was very afraid that she said she was waiting for Tate to file a police report at the Beverly Hills Police Station until she left the country and until her sister could go to the police station with her.
In a statement posted to her Instagram account, Stern said that even if he hurt her, she still has a crush on Tate. While they were together, Stern and Tate talked about starting a family.
However, after the assault, she said she noticed the gravity of her situation.
“This is the reality of my boyfriend and my life and I had to regain control,” she said in a statement. “‘You’re my wealth’ resonated with me and I knew it wasn’t the future I wanted for myself or my future children. ”
Stern said she was “an emotional wreck and constantly watching over my shoulder.”
“The whole situation is very traumatic and very difficult,” she said. “Because I quietly left Andrew, and I was scared, and it was honestly difficult to accept that I was being abused.
