Exclusive: After a week of violent riots in Los Angeles, the conservative activist group Catholic vote has released a report entitled “Gavin Newsom Files.” This is a report highlighting what the group calls the California governor’s “extreme” and “a malicious anti-Christian agenda.”
Newsom, the governor of the California Democratic Party, is one of the top names rumored in the 2028 presidential election.
Last week he has been trapped in a lingering war of words. This also manifested in court battles over President Donald Trump’s response to the Los Angeles riots. Newsom is called Trump to use the National Guard and Marines to respond to both “immoral” and “illegal” riots.
The long-standing progressive Newsom recently moved to present himself as more of a centralist, starting a podcast entitled “This Is Gavin Newsom,” which hosted things like conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
However, according to a Catholic vote report, Newsom was “one of America’s most radical and destructive politicians,” and “he remained the same ideologue that trampled on custody, defending children’s transgender mutilation and extreme defense of extreme extremes.”

“The California governor claims he is a Catholic man of faith,” the report says. “But he has an anti-Christian agenda for America.”
“Like California goes, so does the rest of the country.”
The report highlights that despite the recent rebranding, Newsom has long been at the forefront of advocating for causes such as abortions and transgender children treatment.
“Gavin Newsom may be adjusting his style and image. But he remains the same ideologue that tramples on parental rights, defends transgender mutilation in children, and makes disproportionate advocacy extremely ill,” the report says.
As a rumoured presidential aspirational politician, the Catholic vote highlights how Newsom has advanced his liberal agenda not only in California but across the country.

The group cited Newsom from a 2008 interview in a court battle over same-sex marriage, saying, “Like California goes, it’s the same as the rest of the country. That’s inevitable.”
The Catholic vote has been particularly problematic with Newsom’s abortion advocacy, noting that he actively expanded abortions in California, signing 12 abortion bills in September 2022 in a month, and signing nine abortion bills again in 2023. The report states that despite Catholic professions, newspapers not only use their rights to promote clergy and promote clergy, but also promote Catholicism, but also newspaper statues advertise.
The report points to how governor commissioned an Oklahoma sign that promoted “California will help if abortion is needed.”
“This was considered “merciless” by the California Catholic Conference and a “complete act of blasphemy” by a leading Protestant pastor. The Catholic League statement summed it up to its best by calling the Billboard campaign the “devil,” the report said.

The Catholic vote shows American political left drift, superior to Gavin Newsom, from the Clinton era language of “safe, legal, unusual” and towards today’s “#shoutyourarchortion” attitude.”
The report also shows how Newsom led the country to “warp” the concept of parental choice to use as a tool to advance transgender treatment for children. It points to how Newsom became the country’s first “sanctuary” for parents in other jurisdictions seeking to give California hormone treatments, adolescent blockers and more in 2022. In 2023, Newsom once again stated that it “doubled this strategy of imposing radical ideology and calling it “freedom.” When he introduced new penalties for public school districts that could not promote same-sex studies and transgenderism for children, he framed this as the issue of “families” “have the freedom to decide what’s right for them.”
According to the report, Newsom’s Office issued a statement in 2023 that it “declared hateful attacks” by “far-right extremists” and “LGBTQ+ Californians” slates “unacceptable.”
According to the Catholic vote, “If California is in fact a “attractive American,” the newspapers argue, they should believe in the truth of the Bible, and in biological reality.”

“Inevitably, advances in LGBTQ ideology threaten religious freedom and authentic freedom of conscience in society. These ideologues demand a form of recognition and practical compliance that loyal Christians and other critics of gender nonsense cannot give to them,” the report says.

“Americans were shocked by the riots and confusion in Los Angeles, but sadly, this reckless governance is just too common in Gavin Newsom’s California,” Josh Mercer, Vice President of Catholic Vote, told Fox News Digital.
“As our new report points out, the California governor refuses to address troubling issues like drug dealers, shoplifting, ramp-stretching homeless camps. Instead, Gavin Newsom dreams of the White House and uses taxpayer funds to put billboards in Oklahoma, urging them to quit the Bible and fly California. “It’s no wonder people are running away from California in large numbers with his eccentric priorities.”
Newsom spokesman Brandon Richards responded to the report by telling Fox News Digital that he “doesn’t take the organisation co-founded by political hacks who pledged loyalty to President Trump” and referring to the choice of U.S. Ambassador Bikan, referring to Trump’s 2024 campaign for the Catholic Voting and the choice of Brian Burch, founder of the Catholic Voting.
Richards said, “We encourage you to read Leviticus to Catholic votes that are not representative of the Catholic Church. “You treat strangers who will stay with you.”
