LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – The FAA is investigating a crash at Los Angeles International Airport in which a private jet carrying the Gonzaga University men’s basketball team nearly crossed the runway as another plane took off.
The close call occurred last Friday afternoon and was livestreamed by the airline’s video.
The Key Lime Air plane was told by air traffic controllers to stop during takeoff on a Delta flight.
“As the Embraer E135 attempted to cross the hold bar, air traffic controllers instructed the pilot to stop. The aircraft never crossed the runway threshold,” the FAA said in a statement.

No injuries were reported.
The livestream included audio of air traffic controllers urgently calling out “stop, stop, stop.”
Gonzaga was in Los Angeles for a game against UCLA.
“We are aware that the incident at LAX is under investigation and will review this information as it becomes available.” We are grateful that the accident ended safely.” the university said.

Key Lime Air did not respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press, and Delta Air Lines reported no operational issues.
“Delta Flight 471 is operating normally and we are not aware of any communication from the FAA regarding this flight. We are cooperating with aviation authorities in their investigation,” the airline said in a statement.
A Key Lime Air flight took off from Spokane International Airport earlier in the day. The FAA continues to investigate the situation.
