The ground suspension of American Airlines flights on Christmas Eve morning has been lifted nationwide.
“American Airlines reported a technical issue this morning and requested a nationwide ground stop. The ground stop has now been lifted,” the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement following Tuesday morning’s disruption.
The FAA issued a ground stop early in the morning at the request of American Airlines.
“All American Airlines flights are currently experiencing technical issues. American Airlines originally posted on X in response to a passenger whose flight from St. Louis to Miami was delayed.
When the disruption was first reported, it was unclear how long the ground stop would last.
“Our teams are currently working to make this a reality. Although no estimated timeframe has been provided, we are working to resolve the issue in the shortest possible time.” It is stated in the second reply.
The FAA urged passengers to contact American Airlines for updates once the ground stop is lifted.
