The crew extinguished the flames at a facility that held household items and returned to the Inland Empire overnight.

The San Bernardino County Fire, which stated on social media, was first discovered in the 100 block of Club Center Drive in San Bernardino around 1am Sunday.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and assumed a defensive position, preventing the flame from spreading from one structure to another. Approximately an hour after the crew first arrived, the fire was declared “under control,” authorities said.

A post published by SB Fire before 9am provided firefighting details.

“As we see a large pillar of smoke from the 215 and I-10 highways, the first engine company arrived at 1:05am and reported heavy fire conditions throughout the facility, which serves as a storage for general household goods.” “The crew assumed an external attack and quickly balanced the call to the second alarm. Multiple ladder truck companies used hose streams from the tower as the engine crew used streams mounted on the turret and a large handheld hose line.”

Small explosion reported during an early morning fire near LA battery storage facility

Pop-pitched sounds were heard from the numerous small, bursting aerosol cans, but what was unclear. Thus, the reaction of the dangerous material was initiated. However, it was later determined that there was no risk.

The fire was declared controlled at 2:55am, and the unit remained on site for several hours in mop-up and overhaul modes.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
