Orange County’s John Wayne Airport has added special lanes to make family travel easier.
Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport has launched a dedicated family-friendly screening line as part of TSA’s “Family on the Fly” campaign.
“When the family arrives at John Wayne Airport, they will find a specially designated lane at Checkpoint B, located in the center,” Jason Pantage, a TSA federal security guard at John Wayne Airport, told the Orange County Register. “Southern California is one of the top tourist destinations in the US for holiday families, so we are excited to be able to promote the screening process and improve the overall airport experience.”
The dedicated line officially launched on July 21st, and is the only line of its kind in Southern California. Other “Family on the Fly” lanes are operating at Orlando International (MCO) and Charlotte Durglass International (CLT), with an expansion to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inoi International Airport soon planned.

Carlos Herrera of Ktla was at John Wayne Airport on Tuesday and spoke to his family as he tried out new lanes.
“Yes, it was really great. Very short lines,” said one traveler from Portland. “Hopefully they’re next.”

The airport also debuted a brand new nursing pod at Terminal C, allowing mothers to quickly access to get off the plane. A similar pod is located at Terminal B.
“John Wayne Airport definitely makes things a little more family friendly,” Carlos said.
