Lovers are craving answers as they are looking for a driver for the suspect who killed a 21-year-old man in Orange County before speeding up.
Joshua Cervantes, 21, of Tustin, was killed by a driver around 2am on April 2, 2023, and he and his friend Amber Kahn had left the house party.
They stood next to a car near the Loss Street and St. Gertrude location for a few minutes as a speeding SUV attacked them and escaped the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Cervantes lay on the road and did not respond. He was rushed to a local trauma centre and declared he was dead despite the measures that would save his life. Khan suffered multiple injuries and was hospitalized for several days.
“What I remember is it came out of nowhere and hit my head,” Khan told KTLA’s Chris Wolf. “I remember seeing my own blood pool and my friends on the floor.”
Khan said the emotional trauma of losing her best friend will last a lifetime. She still suffers from nightmares from crashing, and, together with Cervantes’ family, wants justice for his death.
“My son was a world for us,” said Francis Mouga, the mother of the victim. “He was very special. On the last day I saw him, I hugged him and said, ‘I love you,’ and he said, ‘Mummy, I love you.’ It was the night when the accident happened. I don’t know how to continue without him.
His loved ones described Cervantes as a passionate artist who had plans to attend art school before he was killed.
The suspicious vehicle is called the Ford Expedition SUV from the early 2000s and silver or gold silver.
So far, the victim’s families said investigators had no solid lead in the case. The family is offering a reward of between $15,000 and $30,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the capture of the suspect.

“What’s happened so far is bad,” Morga said. “I loved him so much. I miss him so much. He was everything to me.”
Cervantes is survived by a community of parents, siblings and friends. A candlelight vigil to honor Cervantes will be held on April 2nd at 506 West Gertrude Street in Santa Ana at 7pm
