Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing and dangerous 51-year-old man from Compton.
Richard Gillette was last seen in the 800 block of South Center Avenue around 1 p.m. on Jan. 1, according to a missing persons bulletin issued by authorities.
The 51-year-old man is described as a black man, less than 5 feet tall, weighing about 100 pounds, with brown eyes, curly gray hair, and missing front teeth.

He was last seen wearing white pants, a white jacket with black patterns, black shoes and a gold watch.

“Mr. Gillette has a moderate intellectual disability and requires medication,” the bulletin said. “His family is concerned about his health and is asking for the public’s help.”

“Person seriously missing or at risk” is defined as:
