The coalition of community groups announced plans for a farm worker’s labor attack this week in protest of the Trump administration’s ongoing crackdown on California’s undocumented immigrants.
“We are not machines. We are not criminals. We are the backbone of our food system and we are tired of being treated as disposable,” said social media influencer Frol Martinez Zaragoza at a press conference on Los Angeles’ historic Orbera Street.
Zaragoza, which runs the Instagram account @flowerinspanish, has over 500,000 followers. The strike is scheduled to take place from Wednesday to Friday.
“We’re here to work, so leave us alone… we’re not here to do the wrong thing,” said Wilfredo Morales, a day worker who supports the campaign.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security now says officers arrested 361 people last week at two cannabis farms in Camarillo. The agency also said 14 minors allegedly working on the farm had been “rescued.”
The crackdown, which began in Los Angeles more than a month ago, has expanded to other areas and has sparked concern among local officials who say the attacks are spreading fear in immigrant communities.
On Friday, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to suspend the suspension and arrest of indiscriminate immigrants in seven California counties, including Los Angeles. The administration is currently sought a decision.
