Firefighters rushed out the flames Monday to extinguish the flames from Juniper Fire in Riverside County, as they were incited by strong winds and began burning nearly 700 acres within hours.
The fire was reported around 11:28am in the area of Anway and Juniper Road in Mead Valley Communities near Perris.
The agency said multiple engines and hand crews from the county and surrounding departments were sent to the location, but additional ground, airlines and resources were required as the fire burned at “critical speeds.”
Cal Fire issued evacuation orders and warnings to affected areas.
