One person was killed and two others were injured Monday, and in a crash crash on a multivehicle that closed the southbound 405 highway in the Brentwood area.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 1:58am southbound on the San Diego Freeway just north of Moraga Drive. Silver trucks were blocking HOV lanes. It was later reported that three vehicles were involved.
Linsei Lantz, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said one person died at the scene. Two patients were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
A news videographer who went to the scene said one of the vehicles involved in the crash looked like a Los Angeles Police Department. LAFD included the LAPD incident number in its statement.
CHP official Sergio Garcia told City News Service that one of the injured was a police officer, but there was no confirmation of LAPD.
The CHP issued a Cigarato at 2:22am, closing the southbound lanes of Getty Centre Drive and the on-ramps on Skyleball and Sepulveda Boulevard.
The northbound lane was closed around 3am and the Moraga Drive-on ramp was closed. The northbound lane resumed at 4:23am.
