Officials are under investigation after it was discovered that their father and his 14-year-old son died in the Adelanto wash area, officials announced Friday.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office said deputies answered the man’s call around 6:15pm on Thursday.
Officials arrived at a wash area near Pershing Drive and Montroseway and found two male victims dead from gunshot wounds.
The firearm was also found at the scene, the department added.
Investigators identified his father as Michael Williams, 35, of Burstow. The teenager’s name was not revealed, but officials said he is also a resident of Burstow.
“Both deceased were taken to the coroner’s office, where Williams was determined to have died of suicide,” the Sheriff’s Department said on release. “Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the juvenile death.”
Details were limited and the department did not immediately provide further information on the death investigation.
Authorities urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the professional investigation department at 909-890-4904.
