The FBI announced Monday that it had arrested and charged two San Bernardino County men for violently stalking and possibly shooting two Yoruba Linda victims.
The suspects were identified as Xiang Li, 42, of Chino Hills and Bowen Zhou, 33, of Highlands. According to the FBI.
When allegations of violent stalking began in March 2024, Li and Zhou began targeting victims who were identified only as “victim 1” and her family was identified as Yorba Linda only as “victim 2”. The FBI says the victims began receiving threatening calls from suspects, claiming they owed $150,000 and suggesting they were at risk.
“On March 15, 2024, an individual drove to his residence in Yorba Linda, leaving behind a letter of threat and a knife at the front door of the victim,” the FBI explained the details of the release. “Since then, the victims have received numerous additional threatening calls and text messages.”
In one of these calls, the suspect told the victim “You should know where your family lives, and there are a lot of gangs in the LA area.”
It is then reportedly fired on April 4, 2024 by an individual who allegedly fired six guns at the victim’s home while one victim was inside. The FBI did not say whether anyone was injured as a result.
The FBI executed a search warrant a year later on June 3, 2025, which was linked to the stalker investigation. “During the search for Li’s residence, the FBI seized ammunition that matched the caliber of the ammunition used during the filming incident. The phone sent threatening text messages to victims 1 and 2, which were used to contact Zhou around the time of the stalking incident,” the release continued.
Meanwhile, the search for Zhou’s residence announced a firearm that suits the type that is likely to be used during filming, and a call that was used to call Li, making threatening calls around the time of the stalking incident.
Li and Zhou first appeared before a federal magistrate, and if convicted, they face up to five years of statute in federal prisons. They are currently in federal custody.
