A Los Angeles man accused of throwing things at federal officials during immigration enforcement work in June has been arrested on the US-Mexico border, the FBI announced Wednesday.
Elpidio Reyna, 39, has been on the FBI wanted list since June 7th, allegedly throwing concrete blocks at a federal vehicle that had passed through Paramount’s Alondra Boulevard.
Since being captured at San Isidro’s port of entry Wednesday morning, Reina has returned to the Los Angeles area prior to a court hearing on Wednesday afternoon.
“When the agent tried to arrest Reina, he was not found and the agent developed information to confirm that he had fled to Mexico,” the FBI said, adding that his photos and descriptions were also distributed in Mexico.
Reina was initially detained by Mexican authorities in Sinaloa, Mexico. However, after negotiations, the Compton man agreed to surrender to the FBI.
The specific block, in which Reyna allegedly threw the damaged federal vehicle and injured federal officials, added by the FBI.

The alleged assault occurred during a clash between protesters and federal law enforcement officials in Paramount on June 7th.
After Border Patrol agents set up a staging area near Home Depot on Alondra Boulevard, protesters gathered and threw concrete blocks and glass bottles at federal vehicles. Federal agents responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.
